Ruca is a family-owned restaurant operating in Tacoma, WA's eastside community known as the Dome Top Neighborhood. Officially the restaurant opened on March 1, 2023.
Owned and operated by Willy Ceria, Ruca Family Restaurant is a fusion of Filipino, Hawaiian and Latin cuisine. His food is a reflection of his Filipino heritage and his wife Lidia's Mexican roots. Willy's family moved to Hawaii when he was 11. Over the years they assimilated Hawaiian food and culture which they found to be an excellent compliment and blend to their traditional Filipino diet.
The Ceria's have been operating restaurants in Tacoma since 1991 starting at the Freighthouse Square as La Fondita Restaurant and moving to the Proctor District in 1998. After a brief retirement in 2018, they operated Ruca Food Truck from March 2019 to January 2023.
Ruca Family Restaurant provides an opportunity to share their passion for the traditional foods they share with their extended families.
